AI engineering prototypes

Tool-using assistants for notification test-payload construction and read-only cloud investigation.

The system at a glance.

A conceptual view of the flow and its boundaries.

The challenge.

Engineers repeat the same test-payload preparation and operational evidence-gathering steps across messaging and data workflows.

My contribution.

Worked on AI-assisted engineering tools that connect conversational interaction to bounded testing and diagnostic functions.

Implementation.

  • Build channel-specific test payloads for email, SMS, and push notification templates.
  • Support dry-run payload summaries and OAuth-authenticated test calls when an endpoint is configured.
  • Inspect S3 objects/versions and CloudWatch logs/metrics through diagnostic tools.
  • Summarize findings and publish reports without representing diagnostic tools as automatic remediation.

Design decisions.

Bounded tools make assistants useful for specific engineering tasks while keeping the scope of each operation understandable.

Dry-run behavior enables payload inspection; configured test tools can still make external calls.

Validation.

Manual interaction and dry runs validate the prototypes. Production reliability or autonomous remediation is not claimed.

The outcome.

Prototyped conversational access to repeatable testing and investigation tasks.

Explore the pattern.

The companion repository is an independent educational demonstration built with synthetic examples. It illustrates related engineering patterns and does not contain employer source code or production data. Repositories are currently private; please contact me for access.
